TROUBLESHOOTING

FlipSave Troubleshooting: Why a Video Cannot Be Retrieved

Most failures can be narrowed down by checking the URL type, the post's public visibility, the platform's current delivery state, and whether the request was rate limited. Start with the message closest to what you see.

Unsupported URL

Confirm that the link points to an individual TikTok, X and Instagram Reels post. Profiles, search results, and intermediate navigation pages are not supported inputs.

Remove extra text around the URL and copy the share link again from the open post.

Video could not be retrieved

The post may be private, deleted, missing video, require login or extra authentication, be region restricted, or use DRM. Checking the post while logged out can help identify whether it is genuinely public.

TikTok photo posts and image-only X posts are not video-saving targets.

Temporary retrieval failure

TikTok, X and Instagram Reels can change media delivery behavior. A public video may fail for a period even when the URL is correct. Wait and retry rather than repeatedly submitting the same request.

If a public URL continues to fail, the contact form can be used to report the URL and approximate failure time for troubleshooting.

Too many requests

FlipSave limits bursts of requests to protect service availability. If you see a rate-limit message, wait before trying again.

High-volume automated retrieval is prohibited by the terms of service.

Expired result

Download links expire after a short period for security. If an old result page is reloaded, return to the home page and submit the original post URL again.

An expired FlipSave result does not by itself mean that the source post has been deleted.

Downloaded file is missing

The destination depends on the browser and operating system. Check your browser download history, the Files app on iPhone, or the Download folder on Android and desktop systems.

Also check browser download permissions and available device storage if the download was blocked locally.

How to save Instagram Reels: supported links and troubleshooting

Unsupported URL: Use one Reel post link, not a profile. Separate links accidentally joined together.

Visible on Instagram, but unavailable here: A video you can watch on Instagram may still be unavailable to save if login is required or Instagram restricts downloads. You do not need to enter Instagram login details in FlipSave. If saving fails, check whether the Instagram post offers a download option.

Expired result or temporary error: Download links expire after 10 minutes. Return to the input page and submit the original post link again. For rate limits, wait as indicated on screen.

No choice of quality: The quality buttons show only the options available for that post. If there is only one, use it to save the video. Saving audio alone is not supported.
